Personal, welcoming, and full of tips for your dream holiday!

Your Host Astrid – Always Here for You!

Welcome! I’m Astrid, and I’m thrilled to soon welcome you to Appartement Elke in Algund. This year, I took over managing the apartments, and I put my heart and soul into this role. No, my name isn’t Elke – the house is named after the daughter of the owner’s family – but I’m the one who will look after you during your stay and help you with everything you need for your dream holiday.

I grew up in a small village right next to Algund and know South Tyrol like the back of my hand. Whether you want to explore the most beautiful hiking trails, try the best restaurants, or discover hidden gems, I’m here to help make your holiday as varied and unforgettable as possible.

To give you a little insight into who I am, I’m sharing some of my favorite spots in South Tyrol. Who knows, maybe we’ll run into each other at one of them!

These are my go-to places – maybe we’ll meet there!

My Favorite Spots in South Tyrol

The most beautiful spots I want to share with you

Whether it’s aperitivo, gourmet dining, or outdoor adventures, these are my absolute favorites – and they might soon be yours too!

Tip 1

Lavender Spritz, sunshine, and pure relaxation!

Aperitivo at Villa Verde, Algund

Villa Verde is my favorite spot to unwind with friends. The drinks are amazing – especially the Lavender Spritz – and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. You can easily walk there in just 10 minutes. If you have time, make sure to try their brunch – it’s as fantastic as their vegan cakes and cocktails. Definitely worth a visit!

Tip 2

Perfect weather, Kaiserschmarrn, and loads of fun!

Skiing at Val Senales or Merano 2000

In winter, I love hitting the slopes at Merano 2000 (just 20 minutes to the base station) or the glacier ski area in Val Senales (about 30 minutes away). The runs are fantastic, and the views are simply spectacular. For me, a Kaiserschmarrn at the hut and an Aperol Spritz in the sun are all part of a perfect ski day. Sometimes, I skip the skis and simply enjoy the snowy winter landscape on foot.

Tip 3

Tip 4

My happy place for a special evening!

Gourmet dinner at Gasthof Jäger, Sirmian

Gasthaus Jäger in Sirmian is my all-time favorite restaurant. I love going there with friends and family – the atmosphere, the view, and especially the food are unbeatable. The beetroot tortelli and venison fillet? A must-try! And in spring, they serve the best apricot dumplings ever. Yes, it’s a bit of a drive, but trust me – every minute is worth it!

Tip 5

A destination worth the ride.

Bike tour to Aschbach

The tour to Aschbach is a real highlight for cycling enthusiasts – not only for the stunning route but also for the reward at the end: the best cakes at Aschbacher Hof. Whether you’re on a mountain bike or an e-bike, this tour combines sporty activity with culinary delights. No bike? No problem! You can easily rent one at the Thalguter and explore the region on two wheels.

Tip 6

Arcades, boutiques, and plenty of charm!

Shopping in Merano

I love strolling through Merano’s old town. The small boutiques, the charming arcades – and an espresso in between, of course – are all part of the experience. When I’m in the mood for even more variety, I head to Bolzano – where there are even more great shops and an equally lovely vibe.
